Fall foliage time

25-Oct-2004

Hello hikers and paddlers!

Here’s what’s brand new on Mary and Bill’s adventure site (www.BurnhamInk.com):

VIRGINIA: The fall foliage is peaking this week in the southwest and western regions, with a few more weeks to go in the Piedmont and Coastal Plain. Just in time, we’ve posted our “Far-out Foliage,” car-less ways to enjoy the views, from hiking to hang-gliding at http://www.burnhamink.com/work1.htm For up-to-date foliage reports, visit the state’s new leaf-peepers’ page at www.virginia.org/fall

FLORIDA: The Keys totally escaped three near-miss hurricanes, but sustained serious blows to its tourist economy. Officials want everyone to know that the Keys – like the rest of Florida – are open and welcoming visitors with open arms. More than two dozen lodgings in the Keys alone are offering specials to lure visitors this fall. Visit www.fla-keys.com for details, and www.kayakfloridakeys.com for paddling adventures. We’ll be working on our kayaking the keys guidebook this winter and will continue to add to that section of our website: http://www.burnhamink.com/work15.htm

COMING SOON: We’re working on photo/stories of our paddle in New York Harbor and glacier trekking in Switzerland.

Happy Trails!
