Florida Keys: Valentine's Overnight , 100-mile Paddle to Key West & Ft. Myers tours

February 9, 2010

Hello!

We have some special kayak tours coming up in the Florida Keys! Also, we have teamed up with super-experienced guide Colleen Boyle to offer day trips in the Fort Myers area on the Gulf Coast of Florida. See below!

Feb. 13-14: Special Valentine’s Weekend Kayaking Trip in the Florida Keys

Need a last-minute romantic get-away? Toast the sunset along the famous 7-Mile Bridge, then wake up Valentine’s morning on your own private island. Arrive by kayak on historic Pigeon Key, the island museum that housed Flagler’s railroad workers. We do all the work for you! Well, you do need to paddle, but no more than 7 miles each day, across clear, shallow flats teeming with rays, small sharks, bright sponges and other sea life.
$295 per person, all-inclusive: kayaks, gear, camping equipment, meals and admission to Pigeon Key (and each couple gets to take home a signed copy of the Florida Keys Paddling Atlas)

March 10-18: Paddle Your Atlas Off!
Key Largo to Key West on the Florida Keys Overseas Paddling Trail with the authors of the Florida Keys Paddling Atlas, Bill & Mary Burnham.

The epic journey to the southernmost point in the US! 9 glorious days of paddling and camping from Key Largo to Key West. March is Alternative Transportation Month, so get off Route 1 and see the Keys up close and personal. We’ll explore hidden mangrove creeks, historic sites like Pigeon and Indian Keys, pass under Henry Flagler’s historic railroad bridges, and land on deserted beaches. We are the only ones offering this life-changing trip and we’re just doing it once this year. Want to hone your paddling skills or learn to roll? Bill is an ACA-certified kayak instructor.
$1350 per person, all-inclusive: boats, gear, meals, instruction along the way.
Discounts available for four or more people, children and bringing your own boat.
Can’t spare 9 days? Join us for either first or last half of the trip for 4-5 days. Pro-rated at $150 per day.

Fort Myers area trips: Dolphins arc and pelicans soar along pure white sand beaches. Shady mangrove tunnels hide manatees and birds of every color on a kayak tour on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Experienced kayak guide and naturalist Colleen Boyle will show you the way. First-timers to advanced, youngsters to seniors, there's a trip for you. Choose from two-hour, half-day and full-day excursions of Lover's Key, Sanibel Island, the Great Calusa Blueway and the Caloosahatchee Creek. Details at: http://burnhamguides.com/fortmyers.html
